## For agents

- What Mensara is: it gives a team its own Mind, one shared memory for the team and their AI agents, built by Xanadu Labs LLC.
- Status: signup is not open. A person joins the waitlist at https://www.mensara.ai/#waitlist. Agents cannot create an account or sign up.
- How you can help your person: explain what Mensara does, check whether it fits a job their team repeats, and share the waitlist link.
- Agent references: https://www.mensara.ai/llms.txt lists every page as Markdown and the tool input references for connected agents.

# Help another agent continue the work

A handoff gives the next person or agent enough saved context to continue a specific job. Your Mind keeps the task, the supporting records and the result so far. A new chat can read them within that person's access, instead of relying on the previous chat remaining open.

Your connected agent is the AI tool working with the Mind on your behalf. A colleague's agent uses that colleague's access. It may see fewer sources, even when both agents are discussing the same job.

## Save the point the work has reached

Before changing tools or handing work to a colleague, ask the current agent to update the existing task with the objective, completed result, source links, remaining blocker and next action. Include the references to pending proposals or external operations whose outcome is still uncertain.

Use the same task reference when you return. You can say: “Continue this task. Read its current state and supporting sources first, then tell me the next action.” The next agent should inspect what was saved, rather than assume the previous agent's final message was accurate.

## Separate the task from a temporary claim

The task is the lasting record of work. A **session** identifies a running agent, and a **claim** says which session currently owns a task update. Claims prevent two agents from carrying on as the same writer without noticing one another.

A claim has a short lease. The agent must renew it by the time returned by the Mind. An expired session does not delete the task or prove that the work failed. The next agent opens a fresh session, reads the task and obtains the current claim before changing it.

If ownership has moved, an old writer must stop using its former claim. A fresh writer also checks any waiting proposal; an approval prepared under the earlier claim may now be stale. The [task handoff procedure](https://www.mensara.ai/how-it-works/handoff-task-procedure) explains the exact technical contract.

### The work survives a change of session

The lasting task and the temporary writer have different lifetimes.

The current agent saves the result, sources, pending requests and next action on the existing task. It releases or cooperatively transfers its temporary claim. The next agent opens its own session, reads the task and obtains current ownership before updating it. Expiry does not delete the task. The next person can read only sources within their own access.

## Give the next person the right sources

Link records the recipient is allowed to read. If part of the work is excluded, arrange an authorised handoff rather than pasting restricted information into an open chat. [Roles and effective access](https://www.mensara.ai/how-it-works/right-access#roles-and-profiles) explains why a role name alone does not establish access.

Ask the next agent to name the sources it actually read. The handoff has worked when it can explain the current result, what remains and where that information came from.

## Reconcile an uncertain result before retrying

If the previous chat stopped during a save, approval or external action, inspect the original task, request and result before doing it again. A lost response does not establish that the action failed. Keep the original reference so the next agent can make that check.
