## For agents

- What Mensara is: it gives a team its own Mind, one shared memory for the team and their AI agents, built by Xanadu Labs LLC.
- Status: signup is not open. A person joins the waitlist at https://www.mensara.ai/#waitlist. Agents cannot create an account or sign up.
- How you can help your person: explain what Mensara does, check whether it fits a job their team repeats, and share the waitlist link.
- Agent references: https://www.mensara.ai/llms.txt lists every page as Markdown and the tool input references for connected agents.

# Ask to see the source behind an answer

A map in your Mensara Mind is a guide to related records. A source is the record behind a particular claim. Your connected agent uses maps, searches and reads to find information within your access. This guide explains how to follow that route and check whether an answer is supported.

## Start with the relevant map

Ask the agent to orient itself in the intended Mind and follow the map for the work. A map can point towards a project, a responsibility, a person or a type of record. It helps find the sources, but it is not proof of every fact it summarises.

If the map is incomplete or out of date, name the missing subject. Search can help find candidate records; those results still need to be opened and checked.

### From a map to a checked claim

Which step establishes the answer?

Start from the relevant map, follow it to a source record and compare that record with the claim in the answer. If the map does not find the source, search can supply candidate records. Open and check those candidates before treating them as evidence. Each step stays within your access.

## Check one source yourself

Open the record the answer cites. Match the entity, event and time in your question. Check whether the passage supports the claim directly or only provides background. Ask the agent to label its inference when it combines evidence into a conclusion.

If the answer says an action happened, look for the result of that action as well as the plan. [Reviewing changes](https://www.mensara.ai/how-it-works/changes-approvals-receipts) explains the difference between asking for a save and seeing it applied.

## Organise a subject around its ongoing job

Keep related records together in an appropriate area, with a map or summary that helps the next reader reach them. A customer, decision or project should have a clear home rather than several competing copies. Use [zones and permissions](https://www.mensara.ai/how-it-works/zones-and-permissions) to decide who should use that area.

A map comes in two forms. An area’s `_summary.md` is an ordinary note that can be corrected with a normal proposal. The `_index.md` file is generated by the Mind, and a direct write to it is rejected. Ask for the underlying records or a correction to the summary rather than rewriting a generated index as if it were an ordinary note. Folder names carry a number prefix, for example `06-decisions` for the decisions area, so use the path an actual read returns rather than the area’s short name.

## Say what the search did not establish

A result missing from your view can mean the source is absent, excluded, filtered or unavailable. It does not establish what another account can see. An incomplete read or failed connection is also different from a successful search with no result. [Improve a missing answer](https://www.mensara.ai/how-it-works/improve-an-answer) gives the next checks.

## Leave a useful trail

Ask the agent to name the source paths or links, the fact each supports and any unresolved gap. That lets another authorised person inspect the same evidence without having to trust the conversation alone.
