# Standalone Network client input reference

These five input contracts are assembled from the pinned standalone Linux client’s MCP server. They are separate from the Mind’s broader tools. The restricted agent can prepare and preview a message, inspect connections/history and sync already approved work. It cannot approve. `network_prepare` accepts a Share or Reply; a Reply uses a real incoming reply reference. An upload is not a received message.

The `network_prepare` schema is looser than what the client enforces. `action` is a free string in the schema, but only `share` or `reply` is accepted. `in_reply_to` defaults to an empty string, but a `reply` needs a reference of 1 to 128 characters. `body` must not be empty or exceed the client’s message limit, and `connection_id` must name an active connection.

Use the [protected companion procedure](https://www.mensara.ai/how-it-works/network-client-procedure) for the separate human approval and supported runtime conditions. Schema discovery does not connect a socket, send a message or establish installed-runtime acceptance. The [Mind interface reference](https://www.mensara.ai/how-it-works/pilot-interface-reference#mensara-network) explains the boundary.
